The Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI)

The Royal Institute of Oil Painters was founded in 1882, promoting and exhibiting work of the highest standard in oil paint. The ROI provides a centre of excellence and encouragement to all who love this robust medium and is based at the Mall Galleries, London SW1.

The ROI Annual Open Exhibition is held annually in November/December when non-members are afforded the opportunity to exhibit alongside established ROI members.

ROI Annual Exhibition

Find out more about the ROI Annual Exhibition which takes place at the Mall Galleries in London. This year’s Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition will be in November (dates to be confirmed) and will once again showcases the work of many of the UK’s most exciting young painters alongside the work of more established names.

ROI Friends

Our Friends are very important to the ROI and it is a great way to engage with the society with a selection of events organized annually and exclusively for Friends to spend time with ROI members, such as painting picnics and studio tours to name but a few.
